Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Release Date
Previously, many speculated in 2023 that this RPG would officially release by the end of 2024. Typically, HoYoverse releases a beta version first before launching the full version. According to PCGamesN, HoYoverse released the second beta version six months before the full launch of Genshin Impact. Honkai Star Rail was released 11 months after the second beta.
However, HoYoverse has now officially announced when ZZZ will be released. Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) will be officially released on all platforms on July 4.

What is Zenless Zone Zero?
ZZZ is the latest RPG from HoYoverse set in the futuristic post-apocalyptic city of New Eridu. Like previous HoYoverse games, ZZZ will feature stunning anime-style graphics.
What’s different is that ZZZ will offer roguelike gameplay with impressive combat. Currently, the closed beta of this game is available on PC and iOS. According to some sources, an Android and console version will also be available.
Zenless Zone Zero Gameplay
Zenless Zone Zero is an urban fantasy action RPG set in a futuristic world. Players, called Proxy, will choose characters recruited as members to fight monsters known as “Ethereal.”
You’ll be tasked with missions to defeat Ethereal monsters emerging from dimensional portals called Hollows. Proxy can also explore Hollows and undertake various missions.
HoYoverse promises that ZZZ will feature smooth, cinematic, action-oriented 3D anime combat. There will also be roguelike mechanics making it different from Genshin and Honkai.
In their press release, HoYoverse mentioned that players will experience excitement as their characters fight against Ethereal. You can switch characters to unleash skills and QTE combos to defeat enemies.

HoYoverse has also revealed ZZZ characters, complete with their Factions. One of the notable factions is Cunning Hares, led by Nicole, a nimble girl with pink hair and Ether attribute, fighting with a Strike style.

Zenless Zone Zero Closed Beta Test
The popularity of ZZZ has garnered significant attention from gamers. Like its other games, HoYoverse conducted closed beta tests before releasing the full version.
The first phase of the closed beta, “Tuning Tests,” took place in May 2022. This CBT is now closed since the game is about to release.
So far, HoYoverse has conducted two closed beta tests for gamers to experience ZZZ. Unfortunately, getting an invitation to play the ZZZ closed beta isn’t easy. According to replies on ZZZ’s social media Twitter, many fans were disappointed for not receiving an invitation to the second closed beta, “Equalizing Test.”
Due to the high demand for participating in the Equalizing Test, HoYoverse organized a community event with 10 slots for gamers to try the ZZZ closed beta.
Through the ZZZ Twitter/X account, the developer instructed filling out a survey with HoYoverse account, email, and name details. Unfortunately, this community event ended on November 27.
